Latchstring Inn Wet Paint Sale © Stephen Randall (Spearfish Canyon, 2010)

2010 ANNUAL BLACK HILLS PAINT OUT- SPEARFISH CANYON Thursday Sept. 16th through Sunday Sept. 19th. An optional meet and greet in the Great Room of the Latchstring from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm was held so everyone could check in and find places and partners to paint with. Painted all day Friday and Saturday with dinner being served at 6:00 pm in the Homestake Room of the Latchstring Inn. The Wet Sale was held in the Glendoris Room from 1:00 to 4:00pm. on Sunday. Blue Dog Gallery standard 70/30 split was taken at the sale of any artwork that day with sales tax through Blue Dog. Artists issued their commission check within one week of the event.

On a cold and foggy morning, it seemed best to paint up close and personal. this bush seemed to have roots yearning for water from the creek- so that the colors might change more quickly? May be.

A wonderful walk, this rocky path into Spearfish Canyon. I submitted it for the City Employee Art Show this summer at the Downtown Main Library.
